The story
I never planned on becoming a chiropractor.
For as long as I can remember, I knew I wanted to become a doctor. I was fascinated by the human body, how it moves, adapts, communicates, and heals, and I always felt that my life would somehow involve helping people become healthier. What I never knew was what kind of doctor I was meant to become.
That answer came in a way I never could have planned. While attending a Bible study, I met someone who eventually became one of my personal training clients. One day he shared something with me that I will never forget. He had a dream that I was going to become a chiropractor.
At the time, chiropractic wasn’t something I had ever considered. It wasn’t the career I had imagined for myself, and I certainly wasn’t looking for a sign pointing me in that direction. But the conversation stayed with me. I began exploring chiropractic, learning what it actually meant to work with the human body, and eventually realized that this wasn’t simply a career I had discovered. It felt like a calling from God, and that calling completely changed the trajectory of my life.
“I didn’t choose chiropractic. I believe I was called to it.”
Through my chiropractic training I have immersed myself in anatomy, physiology, neurology, biomechanics, radiology, movement, rehabilitation, nutrition, and the relationship between the structure and the function of the body. But my education hasn’t been limited to the classroom. I’ve always believed that understanding health requires looking beyond a single discipline, so I’ve explored Western science alongside principles from Eastern medicine, Ayurveda, nutrition, herbs, movement, exercise, breathwork, and the philosophy of vitalism. Each offers a different lens through which we can understand the human experience.
My background in personal training was an important part of that. Working one on one with people taught me that health is never one size fits all. Every person has a different history, lifestyle, environment, mindset, set of movement patterns, and relationship with their body. It taught me to look beyond symptoms and understand the person experiencing them.
Some of my greatest education has come from outside of medicine. I’ve traveled to Nepal and hiked to Everest Base Camp, an experience that challenged me physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Standing in the Himalayas, in the presence of something so much larger than myself, gave me a different appreciation for human resilience and for the capacity we have to adapt, endure, and keep moving forward. Those experiences shaped the way I see the body.
I don’t believe the human body is simply a machine that needs to be fixed when something goes wrong. I believe it is an intelligent, interconnected system with an innate ability to adapt and heal. The nervous system, movement, environment, nutrition, stress, recovery, thoughts, and experiences all influence the way we function. That philosophy is why I became so passionate about chiropractic.
I want to understand a person’s story, their movement, their nervous system, their lifestyle, their goals, and their relationship with their own body. My goal is to help people develop a deeper awareness of themselves and their health. Chiropractic is a major part of that mission, but I see it as part of something much bigger: helping people reconnect with the intelligence and the potential that already exist within them.
I am still learning, still studying, still traveling, still asking questions. I don’t believe there is ever a point where we know everything about the human body. The more I learn, the more fascinated I become.
“This is more than a profession to me. It is a calling, a responsibility, and a lifelong pursuit of understanding what it means to truly live well.”
Philosophy
I don’t want to simply ask someone where does it hurt. I want to understand the person behind the symptom.
